2021 Zooloween Oshkosh

The month of October is filled with spooky, fun things to do for Halloween in Oshkosh. Whether you are looking for a movie, a haunted house, festival, or trunk or treat, you will find it this month. We hope you have a blast attending events and getting dressed up in your Halloween costumes!

Halloween Things to Do – Multiple Days

October 6, 2022

  • Haunted Happenings at The Grand
    • About: Family Friendly Tours start at 4 pm with the last tour starting at 7:30 pm (30 minutes each), covering the history of The Grand, seeing behind the scenes of the theatre, and hearing spirit stories. Rated PG. Walk-ins welcome. Tours leave at the top of the hour and half hour.
    • Where: The Grand Oshkosh, 100 High Avenue, Oshkosh

    • Cost/Tickets: $6 for ages 7 and older or 4 tickets for $30, Kids 6 and younger are free

    • Cost/Tickets: $15 adult/$9 Ages 13 and younger, ticket window opens at 5:30 pm

  • Zooloween Boo! at Menominee Park Zoo, Oshkosh
    • About: Dress up to trick or treat through the zoo! Food trucks, games, crafts, prizes, mascots, and more add to the fun.
  • Kids’ Day at the Market – Halloween Theme
    • About: Kids can enjoy FREE activities such as a bounce house, face painting, crafts, and more! Dress up your kids in their Halloween costumes and come trick-or-treat at the Future Neenah Farmers Market.

  • Trick-or-Treat Trail, Fox Crossing
    • About: Take a walk through the park and collect candy from stations along the way. Stop back at the pavillion for a s’mores kit, hot chocolate, and craft. Warm up by the bonfire and roast your marshmallow.

  • Doc’s Harley-Davidson Halloween Extravaganza, Bonduel
    • About: Outdoor trick-or-treating stations, haunted pumpkin patch, Halloween-themed music.

  • Trick or Treat in the Village, Fond du Lac
    • About: Trick or treat around the historic village. In addition to having lots of candy, we’ll be participating in the Teal Pumpkin Project to ensure a treat or trinket for every kid. This event will also feature fall festivities such as gourd bowling, pumpkin ring toss, pumpkin golf, kids’ crafts, and other fall fun! Attendees are encouraged to bring a non-perishable food item, which will be donated to the Fondy Food Pantry.

    • About: A picnic and activities kick off the Great Pumpkin Hunt. Vote on your favorite pumpkin decorated by City departments.

  • Great Pumpkin Hunt
    • About: Prowl through the Menasha Parks and Trails system in pursuit of ten specifically marked hidden pumpkins.

    • About: Trick or treating and activities before a screening of Casper
    • Where: Marcus Oshkosh Cinema, 340 South Koeller Street, Oshkosh

  • Halloween Candlelight Cave Tour
    • About: Enjoy a family-oriented evening visiting Ledge View’s trails and caves by candlelight. Meet some unusual personalities with strange stories along the way. Educational rather than scary. Minimum age is 5 years old with parent. No strollers, please. Caves are accessed by stairs and ladders. Wear old clothes, you may get dirty! Dress warmly as part of this event is outside and goes on rain, snow, or star shine.

  • Howard BOO! – Family Halloween Event
    • About: Join us in the Grand Ballroom for a family-friendly Halloween event. Admission price includes a cookie bar for all guests to enjoy and “Witches Brew” Mocktail.The event will feature “Howl at the Moon” Dueling Pianos out of Chicago for a full performance the the entire family will enjoy. Costume contests will run for family, kids, couples and individuals with awesome prizes for the big winners. Mac and Cheese (with options to load up yummy toppings) will be available along with a cash bar for purchase throughout the evening, so don’t worry about dinner plans!

    • About: Costume Parade followed by trick or treating at downtown businesses and farm market vendors. This is a free event.

  • Trick or Treat Woods Walk
    • About: A different kind of Halloween experience… Don your costumes (optional), have candy buckets ready and switch on your thinking caps for this wiz-kids’ wander through the woods. Follow a map along lantern-lit trails, and discover some fun Wisconsin animals along the way. These chatty animals will share with you some of their survival secrets and then pose a trivia question! answer correctly and get a piece of candy. Hit all of the critter stops to fill up your candy bucket! The program allows families to walk at their own pace and will be educational and fun. Children must be accompanied by an adult.

    • Create an original creature inspired by your imagination!
    • Ages 2 – 18
    • Monsters, robots, magical beings – all are welcome in the Creature Carnival! Prizes awarded in multiple categories, including People’s Choice! Judges award bonus points for entries with creature names and a short description.

    • Celebrating the ancient custom of remembering our loved ones on Day of the Dead with the creation of an altar, traditional Mexican folk music by Vibe Centrala magic show with Jonathan Rivera, and a special presentation about The Indigenous Roots of Day of the Dead by Menasha Public Library’s outreach specialist Victor Flores.
  • Murder Mystery Night: Jazz Age Jeopardy

    • Time: 7:00pm
    • Ever wanted to participate in a murder mystery game? Here’s your chance to dress up, socialize, investigate, and solve a murder case. Join us for a spooky night filled with jazz-themed (roaring twenties) snacks, drinks, and fun!
    • The event will take place at The Sweet Lair in downtown Menasha.

Neenah Public Library

  • Monster Mash Dance Party

    • Time: 10:30 am
    • Join NPL in a family-friendly dance party for kids of all ages. Kids through adults are encouraged to wear their costumes!
    • This dance party will be held outside at Shattuck Park. In case of bad weather, dance party will be held indoors in the Shattuck Room.
    • A themed craft and a prepackaged snack will be available for the times you need a break from dancing.
